A quick shout and thank you to Moxie Press for featuring some of my poetry from "EVERYTHING IS BRIGHTER NOW" in the April Edition of their zine.

These protest poems go well beyond the "No Kings" rally cry. Believing that someone must be hurt in order for someone else to feel safe is the lie of authoritarian justice.
Every accusation is a confession.

THE KING'S NEW SUIT
In the time of chatter
Too cheap
Too hostile
To stick to what matters
They call it a bluff
But animals backed into corners at morning
Fight through the night
Drawing blood without warning
And habitats pushed across lines for new land
Get what's got coming
New fire in demand
While lies and tough talk
Are seen through and clear
The war's coming home
And death's drawing near

The terrible, orchestrated chaos we're living through is taking a toll on all of us.
While we fight amongst ourselves over basic human rights, the rich get richer and take more control. We're inundated with debt and sickness for a reason. The decline of our school systems and infrastructure is happening for a reason. We've traded education for entertainment, and no one seemed to notice.
We can fix these problems and live in a peaceful, cooperative world, where neighbors work together and help each other. I truly believe that. But time is running out.
Thank you for reading and supporting.
