ABSENT STARS is a Psychological Thriller set in an apocalyptic near-future where the sun has entered its Red Giant phase billions of years ahead of schedule. This is a VERY approachable Sci-fi book with tons of Action and Humor, while still being a seat-of-your-pants Thriller!
The story revolves around the crew of a starship who have survived the Earth dying and society collapsing, and are now traveling through space in search of new hospitable planets. The crew are very much like a family - some get along, some don't, some are in love, and one of them in particular is plotting to sabotage their mission and destroy their ship.
A shuttle commander who no longer trusts his instincts, an engineer attempting to save his family from a doomed planet, a medical officer who's lost everything she cares about, and a wolf in sheep's clothing, walking among them, waiting to strike.
On a more personal level, the story deals with how we deal with our own fears, sometimes avoiding what's staring us in the face when we can't handle them.
Those who know my writing style know that regardless of genre, I'm going to deliver a rollercoaster ride with some great twists and turns and ABSENT STARS is no exception.
